Born in the Philippines. Loves to travel. Favorite places are Kyoto and Hokkaido. Recently she has been doing a lot of cooking, especially "adobo" from the Philippines, and also taking Japanese hot pot dishes and adding her own touches.
Current Job
Work related to QMS (Quality Management System).
In the Production Engineering Dept., Touch Panel (TP) Division, I am responsible for things such as the improvements in manufacturing plant and machinery, instructing operators, and plant maintenance. Currently I have responsibilities related to QMS (Quality Management System) in the quality control department. I'm involved in the migration from the 2009 version of ISO9001 to the 2015 version. I am also on hand when new products are getting ready to launch to provide advice from the QMS perspective, giving support where necessary on quality control concepts. I'm also involved with the TP business in the Philippines, acting as a bridge with Japan and providing support in the quality control area. Apart from this, I am also involved with IATF16949, the international quality management system for the automobile industry, it being part of my job to help maintain our certification.
Job Satisfaction
It is very satisfying to be able to be involved in coordinating and supporting the growth of the TP business.
I support the TP business, with which I have been involved since joining the company, from the quality control perspective. I get a lot of satisfaction from being involved in coordinating and supporting so that the business can expand further. I started working on the factory floor, then I became a leader in production processes, then I had a hand in improving manufacturing plant and machinery. Then I went on to act as a bridge with the Philippines by being an instructor for operators, and now I am in a position to support improvements in quality and expansion of the entire business from the quality control perspective. When I look back, I can see that my own path of development went together with the growth of the TP business, and I have great memories of these days. I will keep contributing to SMK by making the most of my rich experience to help with the TP business into the future.
Challenges and Dreams
Be a role model for diversity in SMK.
As with the Toyama Works, the factory in the Philippines also produces touch panels. My dream is to take what I have learned back to the Philippines. It is my desire to become a leader in production engineering and quality control at the Philippines factory, introduce the most up-to-date technology from Japan, build an engineering team and make our factory one that reaches the same high standards we have at Toyama. I have been able to learn techniques at SMK, which I consider the best environment for me, allowing me to grow and develop my career steadily. That is why I believe that realizing my dream is the best way of showing my gratitude to SMK. My challenge is to be a role model for diversity in SMK. I hope that I can work and live so that I can support the development of a global business by being a bridge between foreigners from different cultures trying to learn about Japan and its business culture, technological skills, and business mindset.
