SMK Names as CES Innovation Awards 2025 Honoree

SMK Corporation (President, CEO and COO: Yasumitsu Ikeda) today announced that it has been named a CES® Innovation Awards 2025 Honoree in the Sustainability & Energy/Power category for the company’s new Self-Contained Power Supply (SCPS) Coin Battery Module.

This award-winning product integrates a battery, solar cells, communication circuits, and various sensors. By combining solar energy harvesting from solar power with low-power communication via Bluetooth® Low Energy 5.3, it eliminates the need for battery replacements in devices such as remote controls and sensors. Featuring a compact design that can replace the CR2032 coin cell battery, it quickly provides solutions, such as eliminating battery replacements and adding communication capabilities, without modifying the design of existing products. Additionally, it supports wireless power transfer via an external antenna, making it usable even in locations where sunlight is unavailable.

SMK’s SCPS Coin Battery Module will be on display in both the SMK Electronics Booth (#52345 Venetian Expo), and the Innovation Awards Showcase during CES® 2025 (January 7th-10th, 2025, Las Vegas, Nevada).
