SMK Develops “FB-9 Series” FPC to Board Battery Connectors
Corresponding to 15 Ampere High Current Capacity
SMK Corporation has developed the “FB-9 Series” FPC to board connectors for connecting the batteries of small mobile devices which expands the product line of “FB Series”.
In the small mobile device market, correspondence to high currents and miniaturization are required to battery connectors in recent years. The newly developed FB-9 Series has the power terminal rated at 15 Amps (twice higher than the previous products “FB-8 Series”), meeting the high current requirements. It features a space-saving design with stack height of 0.70mm and external dimensions of 4.95mm Length × 2.20mm Width.
The functionality of batteries found in thin mobile devices has increased; accordingly there is demand for the increase in the number of signal pins in battery connectors. In order to satisfy these functionalities, FB-9 series connector has four signal pins.
FB Series offers high retention force with SMK’s unique locking mechanism on the contact terminal and hold-down.
