SMK Develops a Reflow-Solderable Rectangular Connector
Compatible with Terrestrial Digital Broadcasts, VR-1 Series
SMK Corporation has expanded its lineup of the rectangular connectors for automotive devices, VR-1 series, by developing a new reflow-solderable version.
The VR-1 series is automotive coaxial connectors designed to be compact for connecting antennas of terrestrial digital broadcasts.
There is growing demand for automotive coaxial connectors for connecting TV antenna in recent years, along with the wide spread of automotive devices including car navigation equipment having digital terrestrial television viewing function.
SMK has already been providing Dual In-line Package (DIP) typed 1-, 2-, and 4-pole rectangular connectors. With the newly developed reflow-solderable 4-pole connector, SMK will offer wider range of proposals corresponding to customer needs.
This product is low profile and small with the external dimensions of 9.7 mm in mounting height, 13.9 mm in depth, and 31.5 mm in width.
Secure mating between plug and receptacle and retaining force of 70N are ensured by adopting a push-on mold locking system.
In addition, it has a fully shielded structure for noise suppression.
