SMK Develops "FB-4A" FPC to Board Connectors for Connecting Batteries, which Achieves a Mounting Area Approximately 20% Smaller than Our Previous Products

　SMK Corporation has developed the "FB-4A" FPC to board connectors for connecting the batteries of small-size mobile devices, which expands our lineup of FPC-to-board connector products. As the number of built-in batteries with greater capacity has increased in recent years, we have delivered a variety of small-size FPC-to-board connectors. The size of host equipment is becoming smaller and needs for space-saving products that support large current capacity are increasing.
　This product is a connector with a mounting height of 0.9mm that connects small batteries, which supports a current rating of 10A. Due to its structure, which applies an electrical current to the hold-down part for fastening, its mounting area is 20% smaller than our previous "FB-4" products while at the same time maintaining a high mating retention. The features of this connector contribute to the smaller and thinner size of host equipment.
