Development of a Smaller and Thinner "Mini 1-Dome Switch"
We previously released a “1-dome switch” for the smartphone market which gained favorable reviews. We have now expanded our product lineup by developing a “mini 1-dome switch”.
This product is approximately 30% smaller and thinner than our previous models.
In the mobile phone and compact device markets, there has been increased demand for smaller and thinner electronic components and securer contact reliability in recent years. The higher reliability of switches is particularly demanded, such as preventing switches from becoming detached from the PWB caused by equipment being dropped when assembling or using it.
Secure contact reliability is ensured by continuing to use a "contact spring" model that has gained favorable reviews as a 1-dome switch that can respond to such market needs.
This product employs a coverless structure unlike previous products, and uses an actuator-attached sheet in place of a cover. This helps to prevent displacement when being embedded.
We believe that this product will be used for a wider variety of devices in the future such as mobile devices, tablet PCs, and portable equipment.

Product Name | Mini 1-Dome Switch | |
Features | 1)Mounting strength is increased and equipment reliability is improved due to the employment of a “spring contact system” whereby this switch, which is fixed on the housing, can be press-mounted on a PWB when installing it in equipment. 2) Providing an actuator function helps to lessen clicking sensation changes caused by displacement when being embedded. 3) Solder-free mounting on equipment contributes to the protection of the environment. |
