We are pleased to announce the development and sales of the TS-9 series (broadband design), an RF coaxial connector with a switch.

In recent years, the introduction of highly functional notebook PCs has led to high demand for a wireless communication system that facilitates high-speed transmission and communication, and Mobile WiMAX™ is attracting the attention as the next-generation wireless communication standard. Devices equipped with Mobile WiMAX™ are increasing; consequently, the need for Mobile WiMAX™-compatible coaxial connectors is growing.

The new TS-9 is a coaxial connector with a switch for switching between internal and external antennas, as well as for external connections, and was developed for mobile communication devices, such as communication cards and portable devices. This product covers the operating frequency range from DC to as high as 4 GHz, has highly matching and good frequency characteristics, and is compatible with Mobile WiMAX™. Since the receptacle has a switch mechanism, and the switch changes by mating the plug with the receptacle, switching to the external antenna or output inspections is easy. Additionally, the external antenna can be extended, installed, and uninstalled for high-speed transmission or when the internal antenna property is not stable depending on the areas.

We have so far launched the same series of products (ranging from DC to 3 GHz) and earned favorable ratings. This time, we expanded our lineup of broadband products (ranging from DC to 4 GHz) to meet the demand for wider bandwidth.

The receptacle and plug are mechanically strong with an operating life of over 5,000 cycles.

Features	1) A right-angle type SMT-enabled RF coaxial connector with a switch that can be connected externally. 2） Covers the operating frequency range from DC to 4 GHz and has high matching and good RF characteristics. 3） The receptacle is an edge-mounted design (sunk-into-the-board design) that contributes to the lower equipment profile.
