Industry’s Thinnest Analog Switch Developed

We  are pleased to announce the development of a “Thin Analog Switch”, the industry’s thinnest analog pointing device.

In recent years, with the growing popularity of mobile phones, especially SmartPhones, the demand for an analog operated switch has been increasing.  In order to respond to such demand, we have developed this “thin analog switch”.  This new product is not only analog operated; in addition, we have realized the industry’s thinnest analog switch in order to contribute the recent demand of thinner mobile phones, with switch height of 1.0mm.

The analog operation portion of the switch can operated 360 angles freely, just like a mouse of a computer.  The analog operation portion can also recognize the pushing strength not only in the simple X and Y directions but also in the Z direction, allowing it to give the change in speed.  Therefore, the analog operation portion can be used on cursor operation on maps and analog operations for video games.  Furthermore, a metal dome switch is mounted on the center and can easily enter the selection with just a thumb.

Other than the switches, the IC which converts from analog to digital, low power consumption type is available, as the standard product.
