0.4mm pitch board-to-board connecter, “PB-4F series”, with low profile of 0.7mm when mated, industry’s smallest mounting area, realized high mating retention force developed and marketed

We  are pleased to announce the development and commencement of marketing of the 0.4mm pitch board-to-board connecter, the “PB-4F series”, having the industry’s smallest mounting area for small portable equipment such as mobile phones. 

With the trend in recent years for small portable equipments such as mobile phones and PDAs getting smaller and more functional, requirements for internal connectors with narrower pitch, smaller size, lower profile and higher density mountability have strongly increased in order to reduce mounting area.  The 0.4mm pitch board-to-board connector has been used in many equipments and the demand is steadily increasing. 

In order to respond to such demand, we have previously launched a variety of low profile and small type 0.4mm pitch board-to-board connector and have earned favorable ratings.  We have developed this new product to further reduce the mounting area. 

This new product is space reducing and low profile design with the depth of 2.2mm, which is the industry’s smallest mounting area (40% reduction from our previous equivalents (30 pin)) and the mating height of the socket and plug is 0.7mm (approx. 13% reduction from our previous equivalents) and contributes to further smaller and thinner equipments.  A low profile design with only the mating height of 0.7mm, this new product achieves high mating retention force by to a metal locking system.

This new product will be exhibited at “CEATEC JAPAN”, the IT and Electronics Comprehensive Exhibition which starts from October 6, 2009, and we will continue on with active marketing activities.
