0.35mm pitch board-to-board connector, PB-35 series, with low profile of 0.7mm when mated and industry's smallest mounting area, developed

We are pleased to announce the development and commencement of shipment of samples of the 0.35 mm pitch board-to-board connector, PB-35 series, with the industry's smallest mounting area. This PB-35 series is a development of the narrow pitch and low profile board-to-board PB-4 series connectors, which we have previously put on the market for portable equipment and gained a good market reputation. Specifics of the PB-35 series of connectors are given below.

With the trend in recent years toward designing portable equipment such as mobile phones and PDAs to be smaller and more functional, requirements have been increasingly strong for internal connectors with narrower pitch, smaller size, lower profile and higher density mountability.

This new series of connectors has been developed to respond to such market requirements, with the industry's smallest mounting area, a narrow 0.35 mm pitch and a low 0.7 mm profile when mated. This has been made possible by taking advantage of the technologies cultivated during our previous successful development of the PB-4 series connector. (The PWB occupying area is reduced by about 40% from that of the 60P version of the PB-4 series.) A narrow 0.35 mm pitch makes possible higher density mounting and PWB mounting area reduction for further downsized equipment design.
