Shielded FPC connector, EN-32 series,
low 0.8 mm in profile when mounted and 0.3 mm in pitch
and capable of high speed signal transmission,
developed and marketed
We are pleased to announce the development and commencement of marketing of the EN-32 series 0.3 mm-pitch shielded FPC connector capable of high speed signal transmission. Specifics are given below.
The move toward higher quality images and higher performance of DVCs and DSCs in recent years was followed by higher speed signal transmission capability. The requirements for internal connectors capable of higher speed transmission have grown. To meet such requirements, super-fine coaxial cable connectors have been common for connection of an image pick-up element and an LCD panel to a main PCB.
As the vanguard of our industry, we have suggested super-fine coaxial cables to be replaced with shielded FPCs, and developed the EN-31 series. This shielded FPC connector EN-31 series, 0.3mm pitch and 1.2mm high above the PWB when mounted, received very favorable market acceptance. The new product, only 0.8 mm high (a 33% reduction from our previous product) when mounted, has been developed to respond to market requirements for even lower profile and smallness. It performs equally well to that of super-fine coaxial connectors and is capable of high speed transmission.
With the connector covered with a metal shield for enhanced shielding performance and added rigidity, contact reliability of a high level is ensured. The grounding performance of the FPC and the connector will be enhanced and the more effective counter-EMI measures can be applied, if they are coupled together and used in combination with a shielded FPC.
