UWB/WiMAX™ compatible
12 GHz band ultra small coaxial connector, TC-6 series, developed

We are pleased to announce the development and the commencement of shipment of a 12 GHz band SMT-ready ultra small coaxial connector, TC-6 series, for internal connection of information communication equipment such as notebook PCs.

In recent years, the introduction of highly functional PCs led to a high demand for a wireless system that facilitates high-speed transmission and communication.

This new connector is intended for applications for UWB and WiMAX™, which attract attention as a broadband wireless communication system. Its operating frequency range covers broad DC to 12 GHz in comparison with DC to 6 GHz with previous models, and its RF characteristics are highly matching and good. This highly matching performance will be most effectively used in many applications including connection of notebook PCs and wireless modules.

Also, our exclusive structure (patent pending) makes this connector highly resistant to skewed insertion force. Further, the chances for disconnection of mating sections while cables are being laid will be reduced, which will help improve productivity of customers' assembly operations.

With the height of the receptacle and the plug being as short as 1.85 mm when mated, this connector will be a good contributor for downsizing of equipment.
