Rectangular connector for car navigation equipment compatible with reception of terrestrial digital broadcasts developed and marketed

We are pleased to announce that we have developed and commenced marketing of a rectangular connector compatible with terrestrial digital broadcasts, which is in the vanguard of our industry.

Making car cabins places for enjoyment of terrestrial digital broadcasts of high quality video images has been a trend in recent years. Accordingly, provision of capability of receiving terrestrial digital broadcasts is a mainstream with car navigation equipment. To meet such a market trend, more car navigation equipment is equipped with a tuner for terrestrial digital broadcasts, creating a greater demand for small connectors for connection of an antenna and a tuner.

This new connector is designed to be as low in profile when mounted as only 9.7 mm, and as small as 13.9 mm in depth, 15.5 mm in width and 215.5 mm² in PWB occupancy area (2-pole receptacle), to help equipment designers develop their products to be more PWB space effective and smaller. A complete locking mechanism for joining the plug and the receptacle is ensured by the push-on mold locking system provided.

Receptacles are available in 2 versions of a single-pole type (for one-segment broadcast tuners) and a 2-pole type (for terrestrial digital broadcasts of 12 segments).
