One-side slide switch developed

We are pleased to announce the development and the commencement of sample shipment of the ‘JSS series slide switch (one-side sliding type)’. Particulars of this switch are outlined below.

Recent years have seen the market demand smaller and thinner design for small portable equipment such as mobile phones and audio devices. To coincide with such a trend, switches are also required to be downsized. With mobile phones, as versatility in design, in addition to downsizing, has gone further, products which can handle more functions within an even smaller space and which will last longer, have been demanded.

Development of this ‘JSS series slide switch (one-side slide)’ is our response to such market demand.

By arranging the spring, which assures an indexing sensation, in a horizontal direction, instead of the previous vertical direction, this switch has turned out to be an industry's shortest 1.55 mm among slide switches of the same type, making this switch a choice for smaller and thinner equipment design. With both sliding and momentary (spring-back) functions being available, a smaller space than those needed previously is sufficient for many operation methods (such as mode switching and holding). Another advantage with this switch materialized through thorough-going simulation analyses is the industry's longest life of 100,000 cycles (momentary action) and 50,000 cycles (sliding action) by optimizing dimensions and shape of the spring.
