3.5mm dia. 4-Pole Jack with a switch
30% lower in profile than our previous equivalents

We are pleased to announce the development, and commencement of marketing of, a φ3.5 4-pole jack with a switch, specifics of which are outlined below. Needs have become more intense for smaller, thinner and higher-density mountable components for design possibilities of smaller, thinner and higher-function portable devices including audio equipment and DSC.

Our original spring structure (patent pending) applied to this new product has made it the lowest in our industry in profile for φ3.5 mm 4-pole jacks. It measures only 4.2 mm (30% reduced from our previous φ3.5 mm 4-pole jacks). The area-effectiveness of, and high-density mountability on the PWB will be a contributing factor for smaller and thinner product design possibilities.

Further, the employment of a 4-pole 1-switch mechanism makes possible the addition of a signal circuit to those for audio L/R channels and grounding is possible.

A make-switch system adopted for plug detection improves contact reliability due to its self-cleaning effect.
