Windows Vista-compatible
Ir remote controlled transmission/reception unit
We are pleased to announce that we developed a remote-controlled Ir transmission/reception unit for personal computers running on Windows Vista, Microsoft's new OS. Marketing to PC and peripheral device manufacturers commenced in Jan. 2007. Specifics of this remote control unit are outlined below.
We, as a partner recognized by Microsoft Corp., developed a Windows Vista-compatible Ir transmission/reception remote controlled unit[Ir remote control (transmitter), USB transceiver (transmitter/receiver), USB receiver, Ir blaster (extension cable with a transmission section)].
The major feature of this Ir remote control unit (transmitter) is provision of a start button for the "Windows Vista Media Center function (Note 1)” specified by Microsoft for ease in switching to TV, video or DVD. Further, the USB transceiver has a learning function of remote control signals, which were used at home, in a PC. This enables users to call such signals so that other in-home equipment such as a set-top box can be controlled via an Ir blaster by using a Windows Vista PC.
Moreover, an LED on the Ir blaster that indicates the presence of an IR transmission signal makes it possible to easily confirm transmission by a lit LED.
(Note 1Windows Vista Media Center function: A function that allows a comfortable PC digital entertainment environment where PC operators can enjoy any TV programs at any time, amuse themselves by viewing home video via simple control, create their own PC juke boxes with their favorite pieces of music, and to create their own digital photo albums. This function is available on Windows Vista PCs which are loaded with [Windows Vista Home Premium Edition] and [Windows Vista Ultimate Edition].
